EDUCATIONAnonymous donor expands STEM+M outreach for underrepresented students An anonymous donor provided funding to expand and scale the activities of the Center for Educational Outreach led by Director Nancy Moreno, Ph.D. The Center provides in-person and web-based education and resources for teachers, students and the general public to improve science, teaching and learning, while promoting skills and literacy and general understanding of clinical and basic biomedical research. The funding will establish a national platform for supporting and promoting meaningful partnerships focused on STEM+M education for all students, especially underrepresented minority students in the medical field. The ultimate goal is to contribute to the development and retention of a diverse talent pipeline in pathways leading to science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (or STEM+M ) education and careers.
