The choice you make today can help fuel the cures of tomorrow.
You might start with research, since every new treatment and every breakthrough cure has been achieved through research. Today’s research can be tomorrow’s cure!
But you wouldn’t stop there. You’d want to make sure the research breakthroughs make it to patients in Texas and around the country and the world. You’d want to educate future health providers to provide expert, compassionate care. You’d want to ensure the health of the community we share. .
Baylor College of Medicine’s reputation was built on a broad base of basic science research spanning all areas related to human health and disease. Addressing contemporary challenges in biomedical research and healthcare requires collaborative teams of scientists and clinicians from multiple disciplines.
Breakthroughs are out there. We’re making them. Cures are out there. We’re discovering them. The investments we’re making in research today will be saving lives tomorrow. Not only in Texas, but around the world. That’s our commitment.
When someone you love needs care, you want to make sure they get the very best treatment available. At Baylor College of Medicine, our team includes nationally and internationally known medical experts who are improving health and saving lives through care that is as innovative as it is compassionate.
For people you know. For people you love. Perhaps, someday, for you. We’re making sure world-class care is close to home, and close to the heart.
Each year, a new class of bright young minds begins their medical education at Baylor College of Medicine. We prepare learners to become the next generation of leaders in the biomedical and health sciences with competencies founded in inquiry, service and innovation to promote health and transform healthcare locally and globally.
Our students come here with curiosity, commitment and a desire to do good in the world. They leave with knowledge and expertise to improve health and save lives for decades to come. Their careers are our legacy — an investment in the future of health.
In partnership with the Houston Independent School District, Baylor operates three magnet schools, including the flagship Michael E. DeBakey High School for Health Professions, to offer a rigorous, specialized health and science-based education to young people from diverse backgrounds throughout the area. Additionally, Baylor’s Center for Educational Outreach has developed science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM) curricula and teacher-development materials that are in use in schools throughout South Texas and beyond.
At private and public hospitals and practices throughout Houston, Baylor College of Medicine healthcare providers serve the health needs of our community. However, not everyone’s health needs are met through traditional modes of care delivery, as not everyone has the same access to care. When Baylor faculty, staff and students identify unmet needs, we develop services and programs to fill the void.
For community health. For maternal health. For senior and teen health. For mental health. For your health. A healthy community is one in which we all have access to the care we need, so we can all thrive.
You may know Baylor College of Medicine as a local and world leader, helping build healthier families and healthier communities in a healthier world. But did you know we’re also a nonprofit organization, supported by patients, families and community members?
