Dr. Sarah Elsea is a molecular and clinical biochemical geneticist whose research focuses on a number of rare neurodevelopmental and neurometabolic disorders. Dr. Elsea is passionate about delineating the similarities and differences between these conditions and pursuing accurate diagnoses with the goal of developing treatments which are effective and targeted.

A rare disease impacts the individual and their family in multiple capacities. Dr. Elsea works closely with support groups and families to focus her efforts toward improving diagnosis, uncovering the biochemical and molecular underpinnings of disease mechanisms, and developing therapeutic interventions.
