Jacques E. Zaneveld, Ph.D. ’15 is being honored by Baylor College of Medicine with this year's Young Alumnus Award – Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Baylor’s annual Alumni Awards program recognizes alumni and faculty for excellence in research, teaching and patient care.

As part of the awards program, our honorees identify an area of the College they would like to highlight for support. Dr. Jacques E. Zaneveld began his career at Baylor College of Medicine, where he focused on discovering genetic causes of congenital eye defects through the bioinformatic analysis of human genome sequencing data. After completing his Ph.D., Dr. Zaneveld co-founded Lazarus 3D, a startup focused on pre-surgical planning, where he helped develop Pre-Sure technology,the first FDA-cleared technology that allows surgeons to physically rehearse complex soft-tissue surgeries. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he played a key role in providing PPE to the Texas Medical Center, helping to protect healthcare workers and reduce infection rates.
